The Cool Teen™ ranks keep growing.
If you don’t know who Anwar Hadid is, that doesn’t make you old, that just makes you a person who doesn’t follow celebrities with the fervor of a teenage girl (and, shit, us). Anwar is the little brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid (two models whose names you should know by now) and has enjoyed a few moments in the spotlight—including his own Teen Vogue cover—over the last year or so. Here’s why we’re paying attention: The kid knows how to get dressed. He doesn’t look like just another Kanye West clone (no offense to Pablo hoodies and Chelsea boots), nor does he look some construction of cool made up by stylist.
In New York earlier this week Anwar was photographed on two different occasions wearing printed pants, a boxy, baggy t-shirt, and canvas sneakers. It was a little bit Johnny Rotten, a little bit Lords of Dogtown, and he looked damn cool. Yes, 17-year-old, LA-kid cool, but cool nonetheless. Here’s hoping he keeps following his own path when it comes to getting dressed (and hey, otherwise). We’ve nearly had our fill of satin bombers and cleverly ripped jeans, we could use more of this vibe around.
