"Damn, dude." — Gisele (at least we assume she said that)
The highest compliment an outfit can get won't come from strangers who stop you to ask about your shoes—or from the guy in the cubicle next to yours. No, the peak of sartorial commendation will ultimately come from someone not only sees you all the time, but who also has a uniquely intimate understanding of what your wardrobe contains. Like a partner.
That's what seems to be going on with businesswoman and supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who on Wednesday night was photographed several times giving her superstar QB husband Tom Brady really, really approving looks. It makes sense: Brady was wearing a sharp blazer that was probably created by his go-to designer, Tom Ford, along with a white v-neck t-shirt, black jeans, and a supremely slick pair of boots. Everything fits like it was made for him, and frankly we wouldn't be surprised if the whole kit is bespoke.
But because all of these pieces are the kinds of wardrobe staples that every guy should have in his rotation, we're going to guess that Bündchen has seen them before. Which makes the looks she gave him all that more noteworthy.
"Fuck, that's a good jacket," she probably thought.
"Why can't my tailor do this level of work for me?" she wondered?
"Y'all see this fit?" she said out loud to no one in particular.
The thing about getting a compliment from your partner, or a roommate, or someone else who lives in the same space where you keep your clothes is that they've likely already seen all the things you can wear. To impress someone who knows all your tricks means a whole lot more than wowing someone who doesn't know you from the next guy walking down the street.
