IWC Watches Just Made Buying Your Next Timepiece A Lot Easier

The storied Swiss brand is bringing its top-notch wares for Mr Porter.

Trends may come and go, but some things — a perfect-fitting pair of jeans, a navy suit — never go out of style. And there's no doubt that a great timepiece is at the top of that list.

Mr Porter, one of the most influential online menswear retailers out there, is tuned in to such things, and has been happily copping fine watches for some time now, with a healthy list of brand that you'd be so damn happy to have on your wrist, including Junghans, Zenith, and Bremont, among others. And just in time for the holidays, they've added an iconic new name to their roster.

That would be IWC, the Swiss watch manufacturer that has been marrying technical precision with beautiful design since 1868, and which launches on their site, starting today making lovers of horology and lovers of really pretty things happy in equal amounts.

"We are extremely proud to launch such a prestigious brand as IWC Schaffhausen," says Mr Porter's managing director Toby Bateman. "Synonymous with true craftsmanship, innovation and iconic style, our customers will be able to shop a curated selection of the IWC range." Mr Porter is looking to offer up a range of core styles — which styles from the Ingenieur, Aquatimer, Portugieser and Portofino families — and their signature Portugieser Tourbillon Mystère Rétrograde model — are included in the drop of 38 models hitting the site, a complement to the feminine styles which were launched on Mr Porter's women's-focused sister site, Net-a-Porter.

The launch is the latest in a line of coups for the online store, which was the first to take the beloved menswear label Dries Van Noten online a few years ago, and just a few months back was the first to offer Prada ready-to-wear via e-commerce. In a world where everything is pretty much available to everyone, Mr Porter's dedication to find products that feel special and rare, is a real treat, akin to a great IRL shopping experience. And while the prices aren't exactly cheap (they range from $3,950 and skyrocket towards $121,000), it is the holiday season, and maybe someone you know deserves a very, very fancy reward for being nice this year.
