That Elusive Prada Water Bottle Is Finally Here

Earlier this fall, images began circulating of a steel Prada water bottle, beamed onto social media from jolly old England. Nothing could be more—dare we say—decadently sustainable than the logo of one of the ultimate names in luxury emblazoned on a steel, screw-top water bottle. And yet, at the time, it appeared that the bottle was available exclusively at British department Selfridge’s, in a camp-themed pop-up. (That’s camp as in pitching a tent, eating canned hot dogs, and getting to know nature; not entering a room on golden sedan chair and cartwheeling into five costume changes.) It sold out online almost immediately. Once again, America got the short end of the global luxury stick, or something.

Now, however, this deplorable Anglo bias has been made right with the release of Prada Escape, a limited-edition “special project,” as the brand calls it, that celebrates the great outdoors. There is an impressive assortment of camping-friendly stuff, including a selection of clothes and gear like a backpack, fanny packs, and a compass (for those who haven’t yet realized that all roads lead to Prada, perhaps?). And then, of course, there is the big event: the Prada water bottle, in a 350 ml size for $75, and, for those who are truly thirsty, a 500 ml size for $85. The Italian brand also makes some of the best luxury hiking boots on the scene, meaning you can actually camp in a complete Prada kit.

Prada Escape is available from November 21-December 15 at the Prada Broadway Epicenter, in downtown Manhattan, and from November 27-December 15 at Prada Design District in Miami, meaning you can cop your water bottle and either slide down the Rem Koolhaas slide like a true adventurer, or use it to brave the jungle that is Miami Art Basel. As one Twitter user lamented back in September, “im so thirsty but i dont own the prada water bottle so what am i even supposed to drink.” Now, she will finally achieve the hydration she seeks—if she’s quick, of course.
