Next-level swagger from the Prince of Wales.
David Gandy doesn't need any help drawing the attention of onlookers, photographers, and this very website. He's one of the world's most well-known male models with the uncanny ability to wear a suit better than just about anyone— model or otherwise. It's especially true when he rolls up (often in very pricey cars) at fashion weeks across the globe. But being handsome and wearing a perfectly-tailored tuxedo turned out to be not enough for Gandy last night when Charles, Prince of Wales basically owned him in the style department.
Turning up in a green velvet jacket, tie, and argyle socks—all worn with a customary plaid kilt—was a master class in princely next-level swagger that 99.9% of men, Gandy included in this rare case, could only dream of pulling off. Of course Prince Charles has got the whole "being a prince" thing going for him, but it still takes a man of exceptional style to wear plaid bottoms of any kind with a green velvet jacket. For most of us, even trousers in red plaid would be enough to scare us out of the dressing room.
But the more important lesson here is simple: Being really, really, really ridiculously good-looking can earn you a ton of bonus points when it comes to looking good in clothes, but it's no match for any guy with top-tier confidence, no matter his age, profession, or legs. At least until the swimsuit portion of the evening takes place.
