Rag & Bone’s ad campaigns have always been a little gritty, a little dark. After all, the brand's M.O. is making the kind of slick fashion-meets-function menswear that urban dwellers gravitate towards most. But for their latest campaign, the Marcus Wainwright-designed label has tapped none other than Mark Hamill, a.k.a. Luke Skywalker, to be the newest face of their "Men's Project" series. And let's just say the actor takes his job very seriously.
In an accompanying video shot in what appears to be someone's dilapidated house (where are Fixer Upper folks when you need them?), Hamill poetically discusses fame and heroes and death, all while referring to himself in the third person.
I wish my life was a non-stop Hollywood movie show. A fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes. Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain. And celluloid heroes never really die. It really gets me because I’m not a real hero, I am a celluloid hero. Mark Hammil does feel pain. And Mark Hammil will die. But Luke Skywalker won’t.
Here's a look at Hamill's accompanying ad, which is admittedly dope. Rag & Bone has has featured John Turturro, Harvey Keitel, Mikhail Baryshnikov so far in the series, while videos with Wiz Khalifa and others will be released as Rag & Bone's winter collection drops in the coming months.
