Bruno Mars' Epic Fur Coat (Almost) Upstaged the 2016 Victoria Secret F

Sure, the models are the real stars—but let's not forget about Bruno Mars and The Weeknd looking amazing.

Industry secret: We don't watch the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show to see what the men in attendance are wearing. That said, the annual runway show blowout starring the world's most stunning women in the most ridiculous prop wings has proven to be full of pleasant surprises when it comes to menswear. Way back in 2006, a three-piece suited-up Justin Timberlake worked the stage. In 2011, Kanye West wore a leopard print Versace x H&M bomber jacket with leather pants and Air Yeezys. In 2014, Ed Sheeran brought his scraggly charm to the stage. Last year, the Weeknd (and his former hair) wore a memorable all-black suited-up look. But this year, the only man capable of even starting to upstage the parade of world-class models was Bruno Mars, who brought out some James Brown-inspired vibes for his cause, mainly in the form of one giant fur coat.

Bruno Mars' tuxedo was relatively tame (a sensible classic Tommy Hilfiger velvet jacket number), but he really let the beast out of the cage so to sepak in the form of his floor length fur. (No disrespect to the shorter Mars, but he also gave himself a little extra height with a Cuban heeled shoe, which thanks to brands like Saint Laurent— are more popular now than ever.) Now, regardless of your feelings on the morality of full-length fur, there's still something about it that channels peak masculinity, swagger, and confidence.

The Weeknd, who had an awkward encounter on stage with his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid, was back for a second straight year. Now, with a new hairdo, the Canadian singer was back in an all-black look and his signature cross necklace, wearing an outfit that, unlike Mars's, the average guy can actually wear on a day-to-day basis. Point is, there's no mistaking that the women of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are always the star—but the guys of the night brought some flavor that's worth looking too.
