How to Wear All-Black Right Now

Yes, we're amped onFair Isle sweaters and James Bown fur coats right now, but this week was all about simple, head-to-toe black for many of the stylish guys we know, like Liam Payne and Chris Pratt. And, okay fine, we can't blame them. Black always looks cool and expensive, and is never something that causes you to look back at photos and wonder, "What in god's name was I thinking?" Here, what they wore and where it could take you if you follow their lead.

Going Out to Dinner

Here's proof that you can do the whole blazer-and-jeans thing for a dinner date and not look like a total dad. Chris Pratt's black (and basically black) palette is the savior here, causing the outfit to read like a proper suit instead of just a lazy way to cheat the dress code. Notice that Pratt didn't mess with much in the way of accessories; especially when you're a bigger guy, sometimes simple is the way to go.

You can wear this sharp, classically handsome look to most cultural activities, from a bar with your buddies to Hamilton with your partner. Black jeans, black oxfords, and a cashmere sweater (in black or midnight blue) is just never going to steer you wrong. Finish things off with a overcoat as expensive-looking as Trevor Noah's double-breasted topper, and you can really own any room.

Attending a Holiday Party

We know you want to wear your favorite plaid button-down and jeans to the holiday parties you have coming up, but be the guy in the black suit, shirt, and Chelsea boots this year and good things will happen to you, friend. Just don't button both buttons of your jacket like Liam Payne here; it's a rookie mistake that his badass hand tattoo is just barely making up for.

Running Errands Around Town
