The Weeknd Just Joined the Great Merch Wars of 2016

(which is still a thing)

In addition to being an all-out dumpster fire, 2016 was the official year that merch went from fashion side dish to entree. Everyone from Kanye to Bieber to Queen B to Rihanna to Scott Disick (yes) has gotten in on the game while it's hot. And with 29 days left in the year and counting, we have a late entry, but a notable one, nonetheless.

Hot on the heels of dropping his album Starboy, The Weeknd has another release to announce: a 6-piece merch collection, exclusive to Urban Outfitters, which is quickly becoming the coolest mass retailer in town (sorry Zara!). Aptly dubbed The Weeknd Starboy Collection, it consists of your typical concert merch fare — notably graphic T-shirts (both long and short sleeve), a hoodie, a cap, and the perfectly on-trend coaches jacket — with nothing priced above $99. There are launch events at UO locations in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Toronto, Miami, and London, but if you can't make that happen, you can scoop up as much of the collection as you can, online.

Long live merch!
