When Does a Rock Cost $85? When Nordstrom Is Selling It for the Holidays

In its description of an $85 Leather Wrapped Stoned from the LA brand Made Solid, Nordstroms asks: "A paperweight? A conversation piece? A work of art?" Good question!

We're gonna go ahead and answer that it for them: It's a rock, guys.

Sure, it's a rock wrapped in a pouch made of vegetable-tanned leather with topstitched details, but it's still a rock that most people could find for free in a variety of places. At least coal has the potential to turn into a diamond one day. We're not above giving overpriced gifts, in fact, it's kind of our bread and butter, but we have our limits. As in, an $85 rock is ridiculous.

Now, if you need to buy something for that plutocrat shut-in friend of yours who would rather not, you know, go outside and interact with the world (and, with President Trump reality looming, who can blame them?), this seems like the perfectly absurd sort of thing to drop in their stocking.
