The Easiest Work Outfit Worth Trying This Week

Tom Schirmacher

Minimal effort, maximum impact at the office.

Getting inspired to put on any work outfit other than chinos to work when it's 90 degrees outside can feel like a challenge but fall is a different ballgame entirely. The air is crisp, it's a new day to get shit done, and you can actually wear something other than cotton without sweating. Enter: This killer 'fit. If you're looking for a business-casual look that'll get your office crush's attention, you just found it.

Now, there's a chance that cobalt blue and lavender are a touch too loud for your office and that's fine. You can turn down the volume on the color a notch or two and still be in best-dressed territory. To recreate this fit, start with a nice long-sleeve polo that's made out of merino or cashmere, in a neutral color like gray or brown. Then add a pair of simple, streamlined trousers in a rich, moody hue. Could be cobalt, teal, or eggplant. Whatever strikes your fancy. As long as they aren't navy.

From there, it's all about a great pair of shoes. Chunky dress shoes will amp up the retro flavor while simple white sneakers will make the whole work outfit feel sporty. Work at a record label? Go full rockstar in a pair of Chelsea boots.
