Summer's Biggest Trend Isn't Going Anywhere this Fall

The Cool Teens™ aren't giving up on band tees—and neither should you.

Band T-shirts are never uncool but the frequency at which they were worn by stylish celebrities this summer was sort of mind-blowing. The resurgence of concert merch certainly helped fuel the trend, along with the fact that they happen to look damn good with today’s slim-cut denim and slip-on Chelsea boots. They also—always have, and always will—give under-age celebrities some much-needed gravitas. See Jaden Smith (18), Brooklyn Beckham (17), and Zayn Malik (23) in rock T-shirts this weekend for proof of that.

Will the band T-shirt continue to reign supreme this fall as well? We don’t see why not. With bomber jackets, slip-on boots, and torn-to-shreds denim not going anywhere, the badass staple will be just as tempting to reach for. Plus, when the temperature drops, you can simply layer it over a long-sleeve T-shirt for extra skater points (see Smith), or just let it be a strong base for a dope jacket, fuzzy flannel, and beanie.

Unlike say, summer’s vacation-shirt trend, the concert T-shirt is just a non-stop-party kind of thing.
