Two very different guys, one very good lesson
Shia LaBeouf and Ryan Lochte don’t have a ton in common when it comes to style except for the fact that they’re both pretty unpredictable in their choices. LaBeouf loves to tuck his sweats into his socks and once sported a braided rattail in all sincerity, while Lochte wears baggy dad jeans and bleach-blonde hair with equal confidence. These are not your average band-T-shirt-and-Chelsea-boots dudes. That said, even style outliers like LaBeouf and Lochte know to keep things modern and classic for the really important moments in life. Like, for example, their own weddings.
Over the weekend LaBeouf married Mia Goth in a Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator. Though the event was heavy on kitsch, the groom’s outfit was pretty traditional. He wore a slim black suit, white shirt, and skinny black tie, finishing things off with a pair of white Nike Cortez sneakers. By Vegas standards, the shoes were a modest style swerve.
Lochte, meanwhile, got engaged to his girlfriend Kayla Rae Reid over the weekend in Malibu. He wore every guy’s favorite wedding look: a classic navy notch-lapel suit with white shirt unbuttoned at the neck. Lochte has been pretty unpredictable lately—when it comes to his style and his life decisions—but he was nothing but dependable for this important 'grammable life moment.
The lesson here: Save your craziest clothes for the honeymoon. If Shia LaBeouf and Ryan Lochte can keep things classic when it comes to the business of getting hitched, so can you.
