“It’s Basically My Second Home”: Kith’s Ronnie Fieg on His Nobu Collaboration—and His Go-To Order

Nothing you have there tastes like anything you could have anywhere else. And if you do, that means that people copied what Nobu's doing. There's the yellowtail sashimi, which is their most famous sashimi dish, which everyone has copied: the yellowtail sashimi with a little jalapeno on the top.

Then there's the fluke dry miso. My mouth is watering right now at fucking—what time is it?—11:00 a.m. The fluke dry miso is another sashimi dish that comes with these small garlic chips and it's amazing and dry miso powder is put over the sashimi—it's really great.

My next dish after that would probably be the salmon “new style,” which is this citrusy dressing with some salmon sashimi, which is really great.

Oh, by the way, I forgot—the beginning goes edamame, shishito peppers, and the mini corn. They have this like mini corn dish that launched a year ago. I don't know what they put in there, but it's phenomenal.

Then I go with their salad and then their sashimis and then after that I get my rolls. So I do some salmon nigiri, some Toro nigiri, and some yellowtail nigiri.

Then I get a couple pieces of sashimi with that. Maybe I get a tuna roll or a shrimp roll and that's it for the dinner. And then after that I do the whiskey cappuccino, which is the greatest dessert on this planet.

Would you consider yourself a foodie?
Yeah, definitely. I probably spend most of my money on food, and I'm big on taking my wife to different places and we end up at Nobu a few times a week, which is great for both of us. But I definitely am a foodie. I'm passionate about food for sure.

Nobu has a very decorated history of serving an A-list celebrity clientele. Do you have a great Nobu story you can share?
I spend so many nights at Nobu. I have a lot of different stories to share. I mean, I can tell you this: a lot of big deals and moments for my brand have happened [at Nobu]. Hands have been shook and contracts have been signed and a lot of different deals, even leases for stores, were made in the Nobu restaurant. So that place will always have a special place in my heart

Is there one deal in particular that went down at Nobu that stands out?
Yes, but I can't say what it is yet. You know what? I would say this one—this one actually happened in the Nobu restaurant, so this one is definitely important.
