Wedding Ring Tattoos Continue to Be a Thing

If you grew up in the '90s, you probably remember hearing about Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's notorious wedding tattoos. She got "Tommy" inked on her ring finger while he got "Pamela" tattooed onto his penis. It was all very 1995 and very raunchy. Anderson humorously turned hers into "Mommy" when the couple got a divorce.

Fast forward two decades and the trend of wedding and engagement ring tattoos is alive and thriving. That's due, in part, to the fact that millennials are not buying diamonds like they used to. Many can't afford them, some consider wearing diamonds unethical, and others just want rings that speak to their individuality. Top that off with the fact that teeny-tiny tattoos on fingers and hands are trending in general and you've got a recipe for a whole lot of marital ink. Here's a sampling of what people are getting done instead of wearing actual rings.

If you plan on getting engaged over the holidays like a whole lot of other guys, consider this one more confusing option when it comes to staging the perfect proposal. Of course, if you want something out-of-the-box that doesn't feel quite so 1995, you can always just go for an unconventional ring.
